Wildlife Emergency Services (WES) is a project of National Association for Wildlife Emergency Services, a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to improving emergency response to sick, injured, orphaned, trapped or otherwise imperiled wildlife. Our aim is to reduce animal suffering, increase the number of animal casualties that survive, and enhance public service with emphasis on public safety.
We are dedicated to making advances in this new and emerging field of emergency response, through the development of standards and best practices, improvements in equipment and capture and handling techniques, and advanced training and certification programs.
At a local level, WES maintains specially trained first responders to assist with emergencies involving wild animals found in distress.
This charity is 100% volunteer-run - we have no employees - no paid staff. We do not receive any government funding, but rely on donations, sponsorships, and steadfastly dedicated volunteers.
